Students from Ukraine visited Higher Vocational State School in Wloclawek for a third time. This time they were students of international relations from the Slavic Studies Institute from Rovne and a student from the National University of Ostrog, also called Ostrog Academy. They came to participate in a two-week Polish language and culture course. In the first week, the course took place in HVSS in Wloclawek, whereas the second-week classes were held in the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. At our guests’ request a lot of attention was devoted to practical Polish, including stylistic aspects of spoken and written texts. Apart from it, the syllabus included classes on recent Polish literature, a journalist workshop as well as lectures on international relations, in particular the role of Poland in the European Union and Polish-Ukrainian relations. During their stay in Poland, the Ukrainian students could get familiar with elements of Polish culture. Among other things, they attended a lecture on the history of Polish cinema and visited local museums, cultural and educational institutions. They went on trips to Poznan and Gdansk too. On the first day of their visit in Wloclawek they were invited to the Bravo discotheque by the student self-government of HVSS. Other attractions for the Ukrainian guests included a cruise on the Vistula River and socializing in a pub.
